Stephen F. Austin Middle School

Stephen F. Austin Middle School

The Stephen F. Austin Middle School Addition and Renovation was a two phase project. In the first phase of the project, three existing buildings on the site were connected to create a new three story middle school. The new middle school is 126,000 square feet and provides space for 949 students. The new school was constructed using structural steel framing supported on drilled piers. The second phase of the project involved renovating the original 1930s middle school into the new Bryan ISD Administration building. The original school building had been renovated several times throughout the years using cast-in-place concrete and structural steel systems. Henderson Rogers were responsible for analyzing the existing structure for new uses and retrofitting where necessary.
